Welcome to The Gan,

Registration is now open for The Gan for Fall 2023 Chabad of Pasadena is excited to launch our new preschool, The Gan for Fall 2022 for children ages 18 months-5 years old.  The Gan is a nurturing and enriching environment for each child in our care. We know that starting school for the first time is a big leap for both parents and children and are focused on making The Gan a place where each child is seen as a unique and precious gift entrusted into our care.

Judaism teaches that the formative years of early childhood are vitally important. We recognize that each child has his or her unique needs, interests and passions.   At The Gan, emphasis will be placed on the individual child and on encouraging each child's innate inquisitiveness and thirst for knowledge. Small classes and high student-teacher ratios will ensure each child receives individual and caring attention.

Our Judaics program will imbue the children with a love and joy for Jewish tradition. The customs and history are made relevant and meaningful using a hands-on approach with a focus on Hebrew language and Jewish values. In addition, our Jewish values drive the curriculum, environment and school culture. We model and encourage kindness, respect, compassion, confidence and responsibility.

The early childhood years are the most important time in the life of a family and the most influential time for children as they start on the road to learning. Children of this age are naturally curious and interested in the world around them. This magical time of extraordinary cognitive, emotional and physical growth, combined with an excellent early childhood program, sets the foundation for later learning and social relationships.

Our goals are:

  • To nourish your child’s heart and mind as we develop cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills.
  • To encourage self-confidence and individuality by helping young children to enhance their learning and socializing abilities.
  • To foster enthusiasm and responsibility for learning and to encourage each child’s natural creativity and curiosity.
  • To provide a preschool curriculum geared to the different and developing interests of each child
  • To provide a setting rich in materials and resources, a caring and highly qualified staff, a developmentally-appropriate program, and activities that are both teacher-guided and child-initiated.
  • To provide rich and meaningful Jewish content, including education about Jewish holidays, music, traditions and the Hebrew alphabet and language.

The Gan, inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach, will provide our young learners with a lifelong quest and love for learning, innovation, and thinking out of the box. We believe every child is unique, with his/her own interests and learning styles. As such, we will give children the opportunity to interact in a meaningful environment where they can construct new ideas, learn to think, reason, question, problem-solve, and experiment, as they discover who they are and the world around them.
